    Looking at the various responsibilities for the Culture Ambassador position, I’ve either done them while being a Guru or Squad Lead, or have done something similar in previous jobs. So how do I plan to shape it? I have many ideas on what I’d like to do with it, but in it’s most basic form, they boil down to:

    • Working with HR, Support and the Culture team to build long-term remote engagement. We have a fantastic remote team and it's growing exponentially, it's a huge priority of mine to make sure long-term remote team members feel the same way about Shopify as internal team members. 

    • Discovering new ways to immerse new hires in Shopify culture on their very first day, the onboarding process can be incredibly overwhelming and stressful. An inspiring and uplifting culture like Shopify's can make all the difference in those early days.

    • HackDays for Support! The amount of talent in our Guruteam is astounding, giving Gurus the chance to build, create and collaborate on HackDays like projects would only build engagement. It would admittedly be a bit of a logistical nightmare but I think the results would speak for themselves tenfold.  

    Culture is invaluable to Shopify and I think my ideas and unique outlook of someone who has been a remote team member would be a great asset to the Culture team.
